In my work experience as a BMT nurse I could say that on every patient that I handled here I somehow establish a relationship with them specially our patients stays with us for months. From the first time that a patient cry over hearing the confirmation that he/she had leukemia up to the day that they will be on remission it was the nurses who are always comforting them and listening to their worries and fears. Once the nurse and the patient build a trusting relationship a better care plan can be provided for them because the patient will be very open on whatever he feels, and the nurse on the other hand can easily addressed his needs.

Travelbee,s human to human relationship model is what we as caregivers do on a daily basis. We sympathize, respect and build trust in order for us to deliver a better healthcare for our patients.
